Looking Great Fast

Updated on April 26, 2014

Remain Under The Age of Forty

Looking for ways to get ready for your day quickly and still look great? Here is some traditional advice I find holds true, except for the occasional and annoying natural beauty.

At the age of 45 I now find beauty and youth DOES have it's privileges along with age and wisdom. Alas, this article is about looking good, so we shall focus on the obvious.

Rolling out of bed at 25 looks a lot different then your older generation. No sags or wrinkles, no age spots, just smooth freckle kissed skin. When I mention crows feet the younger person tends to look out the window for a black bird. Yet if you are like I was, you will still slather on the concealer with nothing to really conceal. You will waste your time and money as you forgo the necessary product such as sunscreen. Only to find later with sunspots and wrinkles, you are still spending time and money to correct this. Cue the song by Alanis Morisette's song "Ironic!"

Own A Toothbrush

A great smile is a must and possessing teeth seems to help a great smile. Brushing them assists in this endeavor and also has a more calming effect on people should you happen to get in their breathing space. There are great lip balms for more supple lips and glosses that enhance the whiteness of your smile, a little light color never hurt anyone.

Pretty Peepers

They say the eyes are the window to the soul, so a curling wand, mascara for eyelashes, and well groomed brows will definitely give you a much prettier soul. If you find yourself attached to that uni-brow, you must say good bye no matter how painful then maybe that guy in cubicle 13 will stop asking you how much you can bench.

A Dynamic Do

Hair can really slow you down depending on the style you keep, so to save more time why not consider shaving your head? Once again, don't forget the sunscreen for that beautiful bald noggin of yours!

Don't like that idea? Neither does my husband so I personally keep my hair in a Pixie cut which is not for everyone. Anyone with long hair probably owns a pony tail holder and knows slicking it back into a simple pony tail can save time and you can probably skip a day of shampooing if it is longer. So having good hair supplies such as a pomade, covered pony tail holders, bobby pins and hairspray availabe is a good idea but hey, Bruce Willis can rock the bald look!

A Great Body

I find you will look better in your clothes if you have a body similair to Jennifer Anniston's, she could throw on cut off shorts and combat boots and still look hot, but if you are part of the human race as I am, you will find you probably have a few tried and true outfits you look and feel good in. Laying your clothes out the night before along with your shoes and purse will save time.

In the meantime a girl can dream that she will one day aspire to at least a semi movie star bod but I would say leave the cut offs and combat boots to Jen!

Looking Good!

I hope this shaves time off your routine. When I am out and about I will be sure to recognize you right away. You will be the bald chick with a great smile, no uni-brow, buying sunscreen.

Is your beauty routine fairly easy?
